Title: Xbox Mods In The Cambridge / Boston Ma Area
Post by: Byrdclaw on August 29, 2004, 12:04:00 PM
Well, most of you know me as the Denton/Dallas, TX area.  I've now moved to The Cambridge / Boston Area and I'm staying on the MIT campus.  So, those familiar with the area, that's near kendall square.

I offer modchip installs, TSOP flashing, painting, case mods, light mods, just ask if I can do it and I'll let you know.  I'll update this thread soon with some updated pricing, but for the time being please refer to my old thread for pricing/references.

You can contact me at [email protected] or try my cell at 512-731-8734

Already got an email! took longer for people to contact me in texas than here in MA.

Anyways, one question that was asked is what chips do you have in stock.

Currently, I have no chips in stock.  With this move comes the need to find a new job which I'm not expecting to happen overnight.  Once I have a job I will be able to fund some chip purchases.  Until then,  I recommend that you order a chip from www.modchipman.com or www.system-mods.com  both are reputable dealers, I've found modchipman to be slightly faster in shipping products.

If you want a rock solid modchip that works on any version xbox I'd recommend using a Xenium for the time being.  If your xbox is an older version, xecuter 2.3 chips will do just fine.

If you don't want to purchase a chip, your xbox may qualify for a TSOP flash.  Xboxs that were generally made before 2004 can have the onboard bios chip flashed and have all the benefits of a modchip, except it can't be turned off in most cases (only the oldest of xboxs will allow for this method of modding to be turned off).  This does mean that Xbox Live will not work unless you can turn it off.

I hope this answers some questions, and as always, any question you have regarding me modding your xbox will be answered if you just drop me an email at [email protected]

yes, I can install chips into any xbox.

you can reach me at [email protected] or [email protected]

I accept xboxs that are mailed into me as well as install appointments in person.  I don't have a car so I am very limited in how far I can travel, pretty much anywhere the T goes, I can go too.

Haven't done an xbox in ages.. just wanted to update, I'm still ready and willing.

I also will do PS2 mods now.  Successfully completed the mod on my wife's PS2 and I feel confident that I can get it running on other PS2s

I have an extra xenium ICE on hand and ready to go into an xbox, if anyone is interested.  $70 installed to a pre1.6 xbox, $90 into a 1.6 xbox, chip is included in price.

Hoping for just the soldering part of a pinheader/LPC rebuild on a 1.6 (SmartXX calls it a 1.7... holes have lacquer in them) xbox. More details in the email.
