Title: Applications Wil Not Load
Post by: drp on August 03, 2004, 08:26:00 AM
I just got done flashiing my chip with the m8 bios and installing evox(build 3935).  I ftp'ed over emulators, xbmc, etc.  I changed the evox.ini accordingly.  Every application that I try to run hangs at the load screen.  Even xbox games, when I try to launch them from the evox menu, hang at the load screen.  I haven't seen alot of posts on this topic so I thought I'd ask about it.  TIA

I knew the IGR was set to off but I wasn't sure about the clock.  I set the clock but the apps. are still doing the same thing.  Any other ideas.

No I don't believe so. That's a self installer right.  I'm not real familiar with "slayers" but I don't think I did.  I made the bios disk and flashed from there.

I've just read that it's an evox self-installer.  No I didn't use it.  I ftp'ed all the evox files over(3935).  Should I try a different version of the dashboard?  Btw thanks for all the speedy replies and your help.

For The Applications Check If They Have A default.xbe In Each Folder.

Yeah they do.  Here's what the dir. structure looks like:
e:\apps\default.xbe  => where default.xbe is xbmc.
I tried changing the evox ini to manually point to the xbe but to no avail. Still got the same results.

You Should Have E:\Apps\Xmc\default.xbe

Actually that is the first way I had it. But I thought it had to be the latter to correctly read it.  So still no dice.

bump.  In addition to not being able to load any apps I also cannot load regular xbox games from the main menu. As well as load the MS dashboard(from the main menu).  It hangs on the same load screen.

One of my xboxes is doing this too.... I know what I am doing because this isnt the first one that I have fixed. Anyone have any Ideas I have flashed the bios twice the m8 and the x2-4983. Also I have tried 2 hard drives in the xbox .... It was working fine then it just started doing this without me changing any settings.

I'm having this exact problem. I know my evox.ini is set properly and I even went out adding the apps manually as the poster did. However, the apps appear red when I go to run them, indicating that the path is incorrect. I'm aware that the directory is case sensitive, and as far as I know, the path is *exactly* right.

Anybody have any ideas?

Well, I figured out my problem -- with any luck it'll help you.

Originally I had XBTool set the bios for 137 gigs on 6, 7 takes rest. I changed that to 6 takes all, and now I have one big drive and it actually sees the stuff I put on the drive.

Good luck.

I still have the original drive in mine.  So I doubt that will affect me.  Still haven't found a solution.
