Title: Mod Installer In The Dallas~FT Worth Area
Post by: tester123 on April 30, 2003, 08:41:00 PM
As of November, 20 2003 I no longer mod Xboxs'. If you shipped an Xbox to me it will be modded and shipped back in the order it was received. Thanks everybody.

I'm going to focus my spare time on a new hobby.... a Mame-Station.  beerchug.gif

It's going to rock, and I'll post picks of once I'm done building her.

I have modded lots of Xboxes..and i am a verry good at soldering..so it isn't a burned track or anything like that I suspect something was shorted out..because when i had a look at the chip one of the wire had come off..then when i solderd the wire back on it worked for a feww miniutes then stopped..

whee are you located? I am in Australia..

Mine does the green green red/green thing and nothing loads on the screen. I live in Canada and I have yet to find a solution to this problem. If you could maybe help me figure out the cause of the problem it would be apreciated. If you think you'd need me to send it to you to fix give me an estimated cost and I'll consider it.

I just got a FANTASTIC working XBOX from Tester123.  He sent out the xbox quickly (I had it within 3 days!!), it had great packaging and he even answered some "support" type questions for me within 2 hours (on the board).  If you are going to have work done to your Xbox, or need a repair - DEFINATELY give him a shot, he's very professional... ok gotta go play some more smile.gif.

I'm ripping this explanation from another thread:

QUOTE
The second xbox was a buddy of mine's. It was working fine. It's a 1.0 box with an Xecutor Lite 2.0. I flashed the Cromwell BIOS with a version of Evox BIOS. It would boot off of the Evox Dashboard CD, but it would boot to the Xbox BIOS when I tried to boot off of the hard drive. I realized it's becaue the Evox BIOS would only execute xboxdash.xbe, not look for evoxdash.xbe first. I ftp'ed in and renamed xboxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe1 to renamed evoxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe. I rebooted to the hard drive. I got the hard drive version of Evox and I had the D6 version of the Ebox BIOS there, so I flashed the chip with that. It went fine and I rebooted the box. Once it rebooted, I ftp'ed in to rename the files back. The Xbox locked up. I rebooted it and decided to do it with XCommander. I started working through the menus of Evox and it locked up again. I rebooted it again and now I get FRAG. I disabled the chip, FRAG. I unplugged the chip, FRAG. I put another, known good Xecutor Lite, FRAG. I pulled a third Xecutor out of a working Xbox and put it in, FRAG. The box is dead, all it will do is FRAG.

To sum up.

1. It FRAGs
2. It locked up a couple of times, before that it worked fine.
3. 1.0
4. Xecutor Lite 2.0
5. No
6. No
7. FRAG
8. I don't have any, I could get some if it would help.

I've got another FRAGing box if you can get this one working.  Email me if you're interested.

Yeah, I can help you out, but I need more info.

For both Xbox's

1. What does your Xbox do EXACTLY when you attempt to boot it up?
2. What did you do to it right before you started having problems?
3. What version of Xbox do you have?
4. What mod chip are you using?
5. Will it boot up with the chip disabled?
6. Will it boot up with the chip enabled?
7. What error code are you getting, if you're getting one?
8. Post pics if you got them, they help tremendously.

Well Tester,

The first one v1.0 works fine with a x2 Pro but the NIC does not work anymore. I cant ftp to it to save evox on it so I'm stuck. Its completely dead. No lights

The second one, well I messed up 2 of the 3 little resistors to the left of the LPCs (dont know if this is my problem or not) I get a green for about 2 secs then it goes out for about 2 then  orange, red, orange red...

I have a 1.1 xbox. When it tries to boot, I hear the harddrive start up 3 times, then it blinks red/green. Worked fine before I tried to install an Xecuter2 Lite. I tried to hit the D0 point on the back of the board and used a wire that was more stiff than the one that came with the x2. I was then going to just connect them together. That way, If I ever changed chips, I wouldnt have to solder D0 again. When I placed the board back in the case, the stiff wire wasn't letting the board rest as it should, So I removed it. I pressed down on the wire to bend it down a little and accidentally removed all the solder from the alternate D0 point, and I cannot get any solder to stick to connect the trace together again. I am looking to just get it running again w/o a mod chip.

Tester im interested in starting a corporate relationship with you. I can ship you about 5 box's per week. Though i would like to see some of your work first maybe some pictures?

Also do you repare them or simply RA them? Do you have commercial connections? Lastly, would you be willing to do the 128 meg memory upgrade?

If I wasn't working a full time job I would take you up on your offer.

My wife would kick me out of the house if I did. She already complains that I spend to much time either fixing Xbox's or playing them. Besides, I don't fix people's boards for profit, if I did I would starve for what I charge. I do it because I like helping people out and I enjoy what I do.

Thanks anyway!

how much do you charge usually? or can you give me some advice :
Ok, I have an x2pro on a v1.0. My chip has been working for a few months, last week I installed a new 80gb hard drive, and locked it. It has been working rock solid for the last week. Then today I played some RTCW and attack of the clones or whatever on live... then my sister decided to change the game, hit the power button, eject then power... then when she went to turn on the xbox, it started to frag. WHen the mod chip is off: it frags, when it is on: it boots evox. I can get into the ms dash from evox, but I just can't get it to do anything but frag when the chip is off... hopefully you can give me a few pointers :. Thanks!

I just read your post in "mod chip chat". Your on board TSOP is either corrupt or has been erased. You can search the forums to find out how to flash it. You can fix this, it's very easy. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Tester123,

Have you ever seen this?  I have a Xbox 1.0 with an X2lite wired installed with alternate D0.  If I turn the chip off, Xbox boots fine.  If I turn it on, it blink 5 times (sometimes all green and sometimes last one is red) and then the DVD drive opens.  However, no matter what I do, I cannot get anything to display on screen.  I've tried connecting yellow rca jacks into multiple tvs and also s-video, but no luck?  This is happening with 2 X2lite boards that should have come pre-flashed with Crom.  Any help appreciated.  Thanks.

The cromwell bios requires you to use the standard rca cables that came with the xbox.  Did you hook these up directly to the tv?  When I say directly... I mean not through a AV Switch of any sort.

I can fix this, but it would probably be cheaper for you buy another mobo.

After shipping both ways, chip (Samsung K4D263238M) removal, and installing the LPC mod... you'd probably come out better buying new mobo.

Yes, the chip must be removed for proper cleaning and replaced if you broke any "legs", trying to remove the solder.

biggrin.gif Thanks guys for your help.  I just resolved the issue today.  The RCA cables that came with my Xbox were the ones with the yellow, red, and white connectors.  There was also a S-video connector on this video cable.  I was able to borrow a video cable from another Xbox that only had the RCA jacks on them and no S-video and this solved the problem.

So the video cables that came with my Xbox do not appear to work correctly, but I'm good now and moving on to loading evox.

Hi, i am kinda curious to know if you have seen this problem before, I gave up on it and have the x-box bits for sale on ebay in the U.K.  have done about 10 Executor chip upgrades with no problems before or after this lil problem. Not to worried, but seriously curious...... It is I believe, a V1.1, UK PAL, box.

Fitted x2 lite (I have done several of these before no problems)
Power up the xbox very quick flash of green then off,
flashes orange once
then orange twice
then orange 3 times
Then quiet.
There is no video ouput at any time.
Opened the beast up it becomes obvious that the power supply is cyclling on/off.
OK remove the x2 from it's connector unplug the power lead.
Check all is clean no solder splashes.
Put the unit back together exactly the same problem.
Check the voltages and sure enough the PSU is cycling.
Check all the connections remove power from DVD drive and hard disk along with IDE cable
No change
Remove the header plug for the x2 from the motherboard
checked the pads and tracks in that area nothing amiss
same problem
Put the motherboard in another xbox case to eliminate PSU
same problem
Been over the motherboard with a x4 glass can't see any solder where it shouldn't be
The motherboard is V1.1 no fan on the GPU heat sink and solder holes for header plug were clear.
Checked the mod chip in another xbox no

I wanted to let you peeps know that tester123 just repaired a box I managed to toast (flashing red/orange) and the result is fantastic.

Elsewhere on this forum, it's been reported that this error is a DOA that's not repairable.  Don't believe it.  Oh, yeah... in the process, I managed to trash the factory bios and somehow that did something to the hd so it required reformatting, too.  He fixed it all.  He even wired in my disable switch, which was what I was attempting to do when I managed to short something out.  His price was more than fair and the repair was very fast.  He had it back in my hands 3 business days after receiving it.

THIS GUY CAN DO IT ALL.  If you require a repair then YOU HAVE TO GIVE HIM A SHOT.  You will not be sorry.  I would definitely go to him again and give him my highest recommendation.

Thanks, tester123, I really appreciate your help and the great communication.  I hope we can do business again.  smile.gif

I know you said you've used a x4 glass to search the board, but try looking for a solder splash in between the "legs" of the TSOP, and the K4D263238M chips (Samsung memory). You may have bridged some legs... it could be the size of a pin head (that all it takes).

Hi Tester,

Sounds like your the man to talk to.
OK heres the deal. Ive been using my modded xbox for about 6 months now and everyting has worked flawless until recently. I havent done anything to the box for quite sometime. When I power it up, sometimes it just wont turn on. Other times it will just turn off while playing. It might not turn on all day and then it will power on and I could leave it on for a whole day and no problems.. really intermittent problem.

I have a version 1.0 box with a Xecuter2 lite, latest Evox Dash, 100 gig WD and side aux case fan.
I dont know if its a capacitor not holding its charge or what, but im certain it would be fixed by replacing the power supply.
Would you be willing to give me your opinion??
Also, if  you agree with the prognosis, where is the cheapest place to buy one... Llamma.com has em for $39.00 + shipping.... maybe ebay, i guess.

Anyway, I would greatly appreciate any help.

Tester,

Yo what a funny original post.  Listen, can you flash my X2lite+ for me?  I can't seem to flash it due to the "linuxboot.cfg" problem.  I am also in texas.  I will be glad to send the chip to you, and it should be easy (for you) to do.

I have installed an x2lite (when it came pre-flashed) before, so I won't need the chip installed.  Just flashed.  Please email me and let me know how much this will cost.

Thanks!

1. What does your Xbox do EXACTLY when you attempt to boot it up?

Goes to the error code screen.  (See #7)

2. What did you do to it right before you started having problems?

Father tried to install the original X-ecuter, obviously it didn't go so well.

3. What version of Xbox do you have?

v1.0

4. What mod chip are you using?

None, at this point in time.  The X-ecuter was removed.

5. Will it boot up with the chip disabled?

n/a

6. Will it boot up with the chip enabled?

n/a

7. What error code are you getting, if you're getting one?

Error Code 7 - HDD Timeout.  I sent my Xbox to smokeingit to repair, unfortunately he hasn't had much luck with it.  Here are some quotes from him to sum up the situation (in chronological order, latest being last):

"I have located 2 damaged points, and i have resolder it. i dont know how they got damaged. maybe you dropped the iron by the nvidia chip. but thats the reason why the IDE is not working correctly. i am trying to retrack it in another method."

"it seems that there is more damange then meets the eye. "

"i am having some trouble so a friend of mine that does this is also going to look at it tonight. i will tell you tomorrow morning if its fixable or not."

"it sucks that the ide keeps timing out every time. so there must be more then meets the eye."

Given what he has said, I doubt it's repairable, but I figured I would post in this thread anyway.  If he's unable to fix it, but you believe that you can, I'll have him ship the Xbox to you instead of back to me.  If at all possible, I'd like to avoid having to mod my working Xbox, because my step brother might sign on Live without disabling the modchip, which is obviously a bad thing.

8. Post pics if you got them, they help tremendously.

Don't have any, unfortunately.

Thank you for your time.

Well, to start off. I can make it to where you can't access the MS dash with the chip on. Only when the chip is off, will you be able to access live. I do this on a regular basis for customers.

I'll PM you for more info on the repair. I need to ask you some questions. Thanks

not the greatest pics but the damaged resistor is RP7E1 and it looks like the solding iron was dropped on it for some time or it was picked as a location to sit the iron on it. the traces to it are also damaged so thats an issue as well.

wtaag, come on bro. he is pulling your leg about the whole custom bios shit. because if say he did make the bios to disable on network when the hacked bios is on, then it would be useless to FTP to the hacked bios. seeing that he would have to redo a shit load to make the xbox understand the packet information to know whats live and whats not live... then again everyone's been bitching about a bios to do this and yet ubergeek cant do it yet tester can.... i dont know... he may tell it to close port 80 or 21 when its hacked bios on. whatever the xbox connects on.

Sorry bro, but I don't pull anybody's legs... I'm a straight forward person and have no reason to tell people bull shit.

I have done business with Tester before and I will vouch for him being a straight forward person. He's an honest man and a great person to deal with. If he makes a statement, I can assure you that it is for real.

I'll post some pictures of my work in the next couple of days. Stuff like, mod installs, front LED installs and other things like that. But most of all, I'll post some pics of a memory upgrade... before, during and after pictures of the memory upgrade process (SMD RemovalReplacement). Thanks.

Here is the PM I sent:

I was wondering what you would charge to try to fix my Xbox. I would like to install the mod chip myself just for the experience. But when I send it to you should I send eveything or just the motherboard?

1. What does your Xbox do EXACTLY when you attempt to boot it up?

-It powers on and shuts off three times then it flashes red green.

2. What did you do to it right before you started having problems?

-I tried to install a X2 Lite.

3. What version of Xbox do you have?

-V 1.0

4. What mod chip are you using?

-X2 Lite

5. Will it boot up with the chip disabled?

-No

6. Will it boot up with the chip enabled?

-No

7. What error code are you getting, if you're getting one?

-None

Also here is a thread about my problem you might remember it:

Tester. I have a xbox that needs to have an xecuter lite hooked up in it. I have tried and each time I get the same result. (doesn't work) It reboots twice and falshes red and green like it is supposed too, but when I put the modchip on and boot the xbox up, it just boots up like normal. I thought the chip came preflahed, but is the problem that it needs to be flashed or do you have any ideas?

All premods will now ship with the new Chameleon mod chip instead of an X2 lite or pro.

I would like to say that the Chameleon MOD chip is THE BEST chip out on the scene, and it gets the tester123 seal of approval. I'm about to go over a few detail as to why this is THE chip.

No need for a disable switch for live, or dip pins to select the bios.... with the Chameleon... this can all be done from front power and eject button!!! F'n nice!!!!!!!

Here you go:

""""""By powering on your console using the Power button (and keeping it pressed for at least 3 seconds) the Chameleon will boot using Bank 1 (Flashable).

By powering on your console using the Eject button (and keeping it pressed for at least 3 seconds) the Chameleon will be disabled and the console will boot from its onboard bios.

By powering up your console using both Power and Eject buttons (again keeping both of them pressed for at least 3 seconds) the Chameleon will boot using Bank 2 (Write protected).

Once booted Bank 1 (256k) as well as bank 3 (512k) can be flashed or swapped into by using the software control features of the Chameleon."""""

That's right... no more switches... THANK YOU XODUS TEAM FOR AN OUTSTANDING MOD CHIP!!!!! You get the tester123 seal of approval.

Hey everybody, I've been getting alot of request for 32 MB K4D263238M-QC50 SAMSUNG memory chips. I finally got in a large shipment and I'm willing to sell. Each chip is 32 megabytes and the 4 total 128 MB of DDR Ram. This is the real deal.

These are K4D263238M and NOT K4D263238D.

Price will depend on how many you want. PM me if interested

If you damage your Xbox, you and you alone are responsible. Thank you and good day.

tester,

I need some pointers in helping me fix my mobo. I done the mob installation myself, and it worked fine for months. Then started to hang on some games. After watching a DVD movie and hanged, the xbox cannot boot up.

1. What does your Xbox do EXACTLY when you attempt to boot it up?
a> boots up woth no video/no sound, but LED is green and eject functions correctly. Imgaine a working XBox but no video/sound.
b> sometimes, does 2-3 power cycle and flashes red and still no video/sound
c> once or twice cannot power off with the power button

2. What did you do to it right before you started having problems?
I removed the mod chip to get it to boot normally to check if at least the mobo is alright. But the xbox still does the same thing.

3. What version of Xbox do you have?
v1.0

4. What mod chip are you using?
OpenXbox/PC-BioXX

5. Will it boot up with the chip disabled?
No

6. Will it boot up with the chip enabled?
No

7. What error code are you getting, if you're getting one?
Screen is blank and no sound.

8. Post pics if you got them, they help tremendously.
N/A

I check and tested tracks, seems fine. I carefully look for splashes of any kind. no Luck =( What else can I look for to fix my XBox?

All you have to do to fix a tsop that has a bad flash is attach a 32pin dip mod (Homebrew) with a disable switch and boot from the mod. Next just flip the disable switch and reflash your tsop. Then just remove the homebrew mod and your all set. There is no need to remove the tsop at all.

Tester123 are the chips you are selling pulls from used Xbox mainboards? Also they are 16mb chips not 32mb. If you did find a supplier of new chips I may be interested in purchasing from you but I sure hope the price is negotiable because when I was getting them they were at $8 each if I bought them one at a time.  As far as I knew they were discontinued. Found this out after a good long talk with Samsung after I bought one thousand of what I thought were K4D263238M chips and ended up with K4D263238D chips because it’s a newer revision chip which caused the "M" variant to be discontinued. Well the "D" variant is incompatible with the MCPX chipset.

As for the TSOP, I pull them off because it is faster for me. I've got a thong style soldering iron and can pull this chip off in about 15 Seconds, flash it in 5 minutes and clean it up and solder in back on in 15 minutes. It's much faster for me to do it this way. I don't even have to take the mobo out.

These chips ARE 32 MB chips, they did not come off xbox motherboards. These chips shipped from Hong Kong.

I've tested these chips in MY PERSONAL Xbox and they work wonderfully(acts just like a dev unit and plays larger roms in emulation). For example, Road Rash 3D PS1 emulated on Xbox will lock up at the load screen on retail Xbox's. Not mine... it boots up and plays with out a hitch.

If you can get them for $8 each, one at a time, then I don't think I'll be able to give you any sort of deal.

Thanks anyways.

I don’t need to argue with you on the size of this chip but it is a 16 Meg chip. There are already 4 of them in the Xbox and if you do the math 16 X 4 = 64 not 32 X 4.= 64. Looks like you are confusing this with its bit configuration which is 1M x 32Bit 4 banks.

Tester123,

I think its great that you are helping people with thier xbox's when stuff goes wrong w/ them - thanks for contributing your expertise.

Perhaps you could figure out whats up with this flaky box....

1. What does your Xbox do EXACTLY when you attempt to boot it up?

Press power button......flashes green for 1 second, then hard drive heads park (*click* *click*),powers off, powers on....then orange flashing.  Box wont turn off at power switch anymore...have to pull cord out to turn it off.

2. What did you do to it right before you started having problems?
Installed a X2Pro via header pin w/ topside d0

3. What version of Xbox do you have?
v.1.0 w/ thompson drive (both units)

4. What mod chip are you using?
X2Pro

5. Will it boot up with the chip disabled?
Sometimes......some times it frags like above, other times it works fine.....

6. Will it boot up with the chip enabled?
Same as 5.

7. What error code are you getting, if you're getting one?
None....no video during frag.

8. Post pics if you got them, they help tremendously.
Sorry, no pics, but i'm 99% sure theres no splashes, and 100% no burns.

I'm am rather handy w/ a iron (IMHO smile.gif), and I checked all the connections at the chip w/ a multimeter and everything looks connected fine. No bridges and no burns, plus I used a low watt iron.

And now here's the wierdest part......
I replaced the entire m/b and the power supply, reinstalled the same chip...reflashed it...and everything was running just fine for about 45 mins.... then i turned it off....tada green then orange flash.  sad.gif

At this point, I am becoming very suspicious of the chip, as its the only thing from the previous install that was put on the new m/b, but am afraid to test it in another box, as it may be killing them (?).

Any thoughts?

Any thoughts?

themodfather

Wow, I didn't know people was still posting in this thread.

After reading your post themodfather, it does sound as if there is problem with the chip. Try using another mod and let me know who it goes.

This is a hypothetical(spelling?)

If I were to install an x2 lite or x2 pro, and fuck up somehow, how much would it cost to repair the board, or would you purchase it from me?

I don't repair boards anymore, but I was charging $30 to $35 to fix the board, install the mod, upgrade the HDD and everything else.

hey, can anyone post a pic on how a severed trace might look. cuz this 3x green red prob is on my nerves and im not really sure how a severed trace might look, so i would be able to solve my prob. would it somehow look like a trace that changes to a copper-like color? dry.gif

Tester,

I see that you don't repair xboxes anymore, however I would like some of your insight and maybe direction with my problem.

There is a solder splash covering most of the pins on the surface mount IC next to the IDE connector on the motherboard and possibly more on some other surface mount components nearby.

1. Is this repairable?

2. Since you no longer perform repair services yourself, could you perhaps refer me to someone that does this and you know is reputable?

3. Perhaps give me instruction (what tools to use, steps to repair, etc.) so that I may attempt the repair it myself.

Thank You

1. Yes.

2. I don't know of anybody who I would recommend. Sorry  sad.gif

**** Do you have a picture of the solder splash?****

3. First you'd have to remove the chip(disordering braids will not work on a solder splash if it get under the legs). You can use a product called chipquick to remove the chip.

You can go here to read up on this product. www.chipquik.com

Once you've remove the chip you can clean the surface with a cotton ball dipped into flux. Now gently apply heat(15watt iron) to the solder splash to liquefy it and clean it up using the cotton ball. Then clean the pins(legs) using the same method. Just be careful.

If you decide that this is something you'd like to do then I'll go step by step on how to solder the chip back on.

Yes you can do that, but make sure it's the exact same length as the broken trace. Traces are a certain length for reason. Good luck..

Tester!  I have been told you are the man to talk too!  I have a XBOX v1.0 that I picked up off of Ebay. It looks like it was a modchip install gone bad. It currently turns on, green light, off, green light off, then red/orange flashing. No display on the TV using the standard RCA connectors.

Upon opening the xbox I found a header pin installed, I have taken this off, but still get the same error.

I read the tutoral on how to fix the Orange/Red flashing, but I don't believe that will solve my error. Please write back and ask any questions and I'll supply more information.

Sincerely,
Cubanate

I recently received a pre-mod from Tester, and let me tell you all, his work is TOP friggin' quality.  Not only was the install done expertly (points soldered perfectly, non-obtrusive, etc.) but his support was fantastic.  Needless to say I was a bit wary of wiring a stranger 400 bones, but he gave me EVERY last detail about the transaction.  Receipts, tracking numbers, even the auth number and phone number of the Mailboxes Etc. that he shipped it from.  And it was loaded, GOLD.  We needn't say what, but everything on the new 120GB hard drive was a XS user's dream.

I even live in Japan, and I chose to order from this guy.  How about that!  (although he actually shipped it to WA state, and I had it forwarded from there)

Dear god, if you want a mod done, or a pre-mod system, shoot yourself in the head before doing business with anyone but Tester!

Oh, I reckon it'd be too expensive to be worth your while, although I really do appreciate the thought.  If you were just sending a disc (sans case), like wrapped in tissue or something, you could use one of those rigid USPS Priority envelopes for like 8 to 10 bones, I believe.

P.S. Seriously folks, if you're looking around for any work at all to be done, and you haven't PMed Tester yet, find yourself a good hollowpoint round.

Yes, Xbox games are codded to use only 64 megs. Upgrading your memory WILL NOT spead up your XBox games. The reason most people want this done so they can run larger ROMS(emulators), and a small a percentage use it for development.

He repaired two lifted traces, installed the hard drive, and installed everything I needed to run evox. He also installed all the emulators, and helped me ftp to the xbox. I would recommend his service to anyone. Fast service and a pleasure to do business with.

I was very sceptical about sending my XBOX and a chip and a new 120GB HDD to a complete stranger to have it modded, but this guy is amazing. He did everything I asked and more! And he did it all in a matter of days. I got it back the same week I sent it! Tester123 is an awesome guy, he did such a good job I payed him more than he was asking for, what he can do is amazing. I am a %100 satisfied customer and would highly recommend that anyone wanting a mod talks to this guy first.

I really like this one, but I don't like how it says "XBMP" - can that be changed to say "Media Player"? I just think it would look better, because the other menu items are full words. Fussy? So sue me! tongue.gif

Also, what about stuff like the software to backup games, play emulated games and FTP? I mean, where are the menu items for those?

I could make it say what ever you want.  Media player is not a problem.  laugh.gif

You can go into storage, games, then select HDDloader and follow the very simple on screen instructions to burn games to the HDD. You can play them from this screen as well.

To play your emulators, go into "Storage", then "Emulators", then select the Emulator you wish to play.

As for FTP, you can use the newest X2 bios to FTP into your Xbox, or you can use Evox (which comes with every install as well as the hacked MS dash). Just go into "Storage", then "Dashboards" and then select "EvolutionX". Or you can switch the dip switch on your X2, X2.1, X2.2 pro chip and boot into EvoX. All dip switches down (or disable the mod) will boot you into the retail bios and dash for live. Turn dip switches 2 and 4 up and you'll boot into the Hacked MS dash. Turn all dip switches up and you boot into EvolutionX.

For an X2.1 or .2 lite, you can select which dash to boot into by the bios select switch and disable the mod to select the retail MS dash for live.

So most of the applications are found under "storage" then? I assume that, if desired, you could add menu items to access the emulators and XBOX games from the main dashboard menu? Is this something that *you* need to do, or can the average user of a hacked dashboard just edit some .INI file or something?

Yes, anyone can do it. All you need to do is edit the config.xap, insert in the default.xip, save, and resign.

Any ways, this is the "Spacedash" by Nitroxeno (thanks man) with my config and default.xap.

I'm starting out at the dash, going into "Storage", then "Emulators", then selecting "N64" and then selecting my favorite N64 game.
