Title: Flash Bios Problem...
Post by: notserbamma on April 01, 2004, 12:03:00 AM
I have no idea what my current bios is right now, all I know is that the xbox opening logo is blue and I'm using a matrix mod. I want to upgrade my bios (So I can use IGR with Avalaunch) but I haven't flashed anything since I installed the chip back in May/03 so it's been awhile.

Anyway I got the X2 bios, placed it in my evolutionx/bios folder and ran the "Flash BIOS" option and chose x2_4981 in evox but it always hangs on "ERASING"

At first I was thinking it was because I didn't do any xbtool hexing but evox comes with a couple of its own BIOS already in the folder but even when I tried them, it hung on "Erasing"

What is the problem? Does evox need to be my main dash when trying to flash? Cuz Avalaunch is my main dash right now...evox isn't even on drive C with AVA...if this mattes at all...

Usually if it hangs right at Erasing, it means your mod chip has flashing disabled, read the document on how to enable flashing for your chip.

It's slowly coming back to me but I cannot seem to find the tutorial I looked at many months ago. I know that Matrix has 4 modes...can anyone tell me which mode does what? I know that one of these modes allows me to write and I prolly have it on the wrong mode...

And which combination of 1-2 on/off go for each mode?

Finding the answers to simple questions like these seems impossible sometimes...
