As expected it didn't take long for someone to use linux on his PS3 to launch an emulator and try booting Microsoft Windows. Below is a video of a PS3 Fedora Core5 install using QEMU to boot into Windows XP. It seems slow as hell ... probably because linux has access to only 256MB of RAM on the PS3. QEMU is a generic and open source processor emulator. It has support to emulate an x86 CPU on a PowerPC-based host CPU.

Sweet. I knew it wouldn't be long.. If only there was a way to access the ps3's full hardware potential. You could play Quake 1.

If it's that necessary to run microsoft windows on a sony product.  GET A SONY VAIO (caps) retards. That s@$t runs slow and is not worth the time.  laptops running XP 50 times faster than that can be had form walmart for about half the price of a ps2.

I meant a PS3.  That not even a real hack.

Why run a broken, slow, emulated windows on a PS3 when I can run it on my PC with far less problems? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Although this may not be useful for any practical means, it is simply proof of concept which makes it worth a look in my opinion.

The creator should try and use TinyXP instead of normal XP, It should go alot faster.
