Hi guys
Went to turn on my PS3 and there was no fan noise and the light quickly changed from green to flashing red with 3 beeps. Fan test by holding eject when turning on didn't work either.
Upon cracking it open I found the following:

Any chance someone know's what the tiny chip is/does and if a replacement can be sourced? And if it's even possible to replace it??
Thanks!

Looking at an old board I have here there are 2 capacitors in that area. I can take them off an old board I have here and send them to you if you're in the UK.
You'll need to use hot air or IR to replace them. One is abbout 1mm long, the other is about 2mm long, so small components. If you are in the UK I can change them for you too.
EDIT: After another look it seems like only the larger one has failed. No harm in changing both though.
