Title: Ps3 Hard Drive Questions
Post by: DJKrafty03 on April 12, 2010, 02:39:00 PM
My PS3 has bit the dust and of course I didn't get to back anything up off of it. I've tried fixing it with a heat gun, but have had no luck. I'm not new with solder reflows, so don't ask about it, I just couldn't get it to fix, I've had one or two 360s not work either.

My questions are these: Do all PS3's have the same partitioning on their HDDs? If so, what would I have to do to copy over my data from my old HDD? I would assume its as simple as copying the contents of your first hard drive to a PC, then overwriting those files from each partition onto the new PS3's drive? I haven't even tried to hook mine up to my PC, I was hoping to fix my PS3 but I gave up last night when I couldn't get any video at all, and it won't reset either.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
