The PS3 doesn't use ATA drives, you need a SATA drive.  Any Sata drive will do.

for harddrive modification check out this : http://shop.01media....ProductID=33473  allows you to use standard 3,5" harddrives in the ps3.

What he means by ATA-150 on newegg are the Serial ATA-150 drives, he just didnt state so.  These are SATA drives.  As far as I know, no one sells just ATA-150 drives.  I saw the same one and was excited about it till i noticed it was an ATA-6 sad.gif.
