Title: 1.5 Tb Sata Drive In Xbox
Post by: kipper2k on December 05, 2008, 07:24:00 PM

Hi All,

I was doing some experimenting with sata drives in a XBox and i have limited success using a Sata2 Seagate 1.5 TB Hard drive to replace the original Hard Drive.  The drive shows up on my evox page as
491.778.001.136 (I dont think there is enough room for the 1. at the beginning)

I am using an Addonics Sata to IDE controller board which is small enough to be enclosed in the case..  I get a successful boot all the time and occasionally there i a little stuttering.  I am assumint that there may be a little negociation issues or something between the onboard IDE controller and the addonics adapter. Everything i have tried, emulators seem to run ok and it does seem that there is a little longer loading times sometimes.

Has anyone else played around with sata to IDE controllers for the Xbox and if so what kind of luck did you have, (brand names etc would be nice)

Thanks

Kipper

theres a big thread on a 1tb SATA upgrade that should have info

and FYI, youll want to repartition, theres no way to put 1.5tb on a single partition without corruption, youll have to split it with F+G and use xbpartitioner to format
