Title: Stuntman Ignition Game Data Executable?
Post by: Morgentaler on May 29, 2008, 07:23:00 PM
I was just browsing through my game data folder to see how much space each item was using, and I accidentally clicked X as I passed over the Stuntman: Ignition game data.

Much to my surprise it actually tried to *execute* it as an application, even playing the chime and showing the PS3 logo. It did this both with a disc (GTA4) and without a disc in the drive. None of the other game data did this when selected.

After the chime and the logo the screen goes dark so I don't know what else it might be doing.

Possible exploit? (If I'm far behind the curve on this one, forgive me) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

edit: I should note Firmware 2.35

i don really know anything about hacking or anything but i would guess that if it tried to execute it as a game or something, you might be able to hack that file and make it execute a full game. like  ftp it or something to your computer put like an iso into hat file then ftp back and execute i as a game.

sorry if i am completely wring or nothing i said made sence tongue.gif

Did that game receive an update?
If so there would very likely be a new executable file flagged to run from that folder on the hard drive
This wont lead to anything.
