From ps3hax.net:

Team ICE (Along with StreetskaterFU) has exclusively shared with PS3Hax.net of what all PS3 hackers have been hoping for. After a long journey there finally is a glimpse of hope of a hacking the PS3. Team ICE has found a method run SELF files in GameOS (on firmware 2.10!). In other words they have found a way to run an unsigned code on the RETAIL PS3 via RFOM exploit on the latest firmware.

The self written SELF files are written by a tool called Elf2Self, more information about that can be found here, it is expected to be released in the very near future.

Although not 100% complete, it still is a HUGE step and this method should be finalized and perfected very soon.

Team Ice still needs to prove the unsigned code doesn't hang.
Wait & See.

Wow... .incredibly old cant even believe team ICE is taking the credit for this piece of crap. Its been out since the beggining of the ps3 cycle. There are several forums i visit that had this ages ago. Its just one old proof of concept that they can make the ps3 crash. It hasnt been good for anything other than make the ps3 crash. What i DO hope for is for Team Ice to take this an extra step forward. That would be great.

i dono understand how this could be named "running unsigned code" if nothing happens on screen. If they hase showen a running "WHAT EVER" like the guys from the Wii Full Hacked Video than i could understood it.But for me this is NOT running unsigned code on the PS3.
I hope that ill be wrong.......

Team ICE did some pretty nice stuff in the PS2 days... I'm remaining cautiously optimistic about this.

I'm happy that x-s doesn't get flooded with external drama news, because, sincerely, it doesn't help homebrew scene at all when you focus on them. Money makes people do aweful things... Let's keep money out of the homebrewer loop.

after reading through all the rediculously ott "wherz teh proofz lolz" type coments on ps3hackz it seems the only thing pointing towards this being right is that they can specify how long the screen goes black for lol, so its possible they havent just crashed it, but i think there trying to source someone with an official sdk to try write em some code.... i did find it quite amusing seeing streetskaterfu posting on a ps3dev site saying " i hacked the ps3 can someone write 'hello world' for me please"
