Title: How To Dump Ps3 Discs Via Linux Command?
Post by: davevt98 on February 05, 2007, 09:03:00 AM
I have searched and have come across the command to dump the ps3 disc but it is not working for me.  I do not have enough linux knowledge to understand what I need to change.

I have an external hard drive connected and it shows up in fedora 5.  However, when I use the command to dump to exthdd, it does not do it.

Also, I am using the terminal to put in the command.  Is this correct?  Do I need to change the name of the external hard drive?

Any expert advice would be appreciated.  Thanks

This forum seems very dead.  Where is everyone?  Is there a better forum to be on for PS3 talk?

The dumping of PS3 discs was fixed in one of the many firmware updates by Sony.

What firmware are you using?

I don't remember off-hand which update by Sony fixed this loophole. I will see if I can find out.

Thanks for the response.  Also, thanks for all your hard work with the 360.  It has come in handy.

There was chatter that dumping was fixed in 1.5 but there have been posts on PS3News that dumping is still possible.

GaryOPA - check your PM.

I am using 1.32.  Was the dumping fixed with this firmware?  Can someone post exactly how this was done. Thanks
