I have recently started recording HDTV shows to my pc over IEEE1394 from my cable set top box and I was wondering what program(s) are available that can stream the MPEG2 TS (transport stream) over to the PS3.
I have Flags of our fathers in 1080i and 6 channel AC3 48000hz audio.
The PS3 will play the movie over the windows media player 11 file sharing but there is no audio when played on the PS3.
I don't want to lose anything in the audio or video department if possible.
This is on a 100Mbps wired LAN so bandwidth is not really an issue and the computer that is hosting the video is a
Windows Vista Ultimate x64
AMD Athlon X2 X64 5600+
2GB DDR2 667
Asus Crosshair motherboard
3Gbps SATA 320GB HDD
Nvidia 7600GTOC 256Mb
So if it needs transcoding to play then my machine is quite capable of this.
or is there a 360 route I could take since I have that as well?

Well if there is anyone out there that wanted to know the answer I was able to find something that worked perfectly.
A freeware program called HDTVtoMPEG2
is able to convert the transport stream into a compliant stream that the PS3 can decode properly.
It retains full 1920x1080 resolution and 6 channel AC3 48kHz audio.
