As part of a unique online promotion, the Blu-ray Disc Association on July 1 will begin offering a "five free discs" deal with the purchase of any new Blu-ray disc player.
Between July 1 and September 30, consumers who purchase any new Blu-ray player (including the PlayStation 3) will automatically qualify to receive five free Blu-ray movies (out of a total selection of twenty-two titles).

how desperate can they be? I bet the next thing they will say the attach rate to PS3's is 5 bluray disks and go all like w00t0mgl0l over it...

Sounds like a good deal but I wonder what titles are on that list?. Probably low buget and obscure movies?.

edit: Desperate Movie Ravo? This is a perfect move on their part! Puts pressue on HD-DVD and not a bad move at all... If you think this was a desperate movie what about HD-DVD putting out all those cheap players? they are just smart moves benefeting the consumers... If you follow the links, and read all the feedback here, there, and other places, you will see everyones saying positive things (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Good move I think (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
