Considering the usage of "portable" and knowing that laptops have no distinguishable differences from desktop PCs in the upper levels of operation, I'm guessing this is more geared towards actual portable media players (e.g. their PSP). And as far as I know, the main downside of DRM in the first place is the inability to transcode the media files to play on other (portable) devices. This is a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah you would be too, just wait untill your computer is infected with all kinds of DRM and keeps crashing on you, becasue the DRM is in conflict with your OS. Root Kit anyone?
