Title: Can I Duplicate/copy My Xbox Hdd
Post by: ldotsfan on August 04, 2008, 07:34:00 AM
2 ways, hdd cloning from xbox or on PC.

1. From xbox, check link in my sig: chimp26. I hope yours is not a 1.6 xbox.
2. PC, any 1:1 bitlevel disc cloning program like Acronis TrueImage or SelfImage.

Since your xbox is chipped, unlock the hdd before you do the cloning.

Thanks for the reply, my heart sunk when you asked if I have a 1.6 cos I do! does this mean the link wouldn;t work for me?
ok so 1:1 bit cloning sounds pretty self explanatory, so i just connect up the two drives as slaves on my home pc then i can duplicate them using these programs, even though it is FATX?

So the PC wont mind if it is FATX?

The PC doesn't care if it's FATX or NTFS as it's a bitlevel raw copy. I have not tried with Vista though as I use XP. Shouldn't matter if you run it with admin rights.

As for chimp26, it works for 1.6 but involves more work over telnet and I found that I had to reboot a few times when I used it (I have one 1.6 too).
