For those who have been waiting on a deal for the PS3 now is the time. From June 1st-6th when you buy a 40GB PS3 you get a $100 Giftcard for FREE!!!
No you can't try and scam them by returning the PS3. When you checkout you're basically buying the PS3 for $300 + a $100 gift card. So returns will only net you $300.
This was in a flyer that I saw recently... Presumably they're doing this to make room for the new Dual-Shock 3 packages.

It's a bargain at that price. I know it has it's quirks and some stuff is not up to the 360 standard but I can honestly say I have used mine lots and have had no issues that make me regret buying it.

Eh, not up to 360 standards? You mean it doesn't have a 75% failure rate? Then yes, its not the same standard...

It simply doesn't have the volume of games the 360 does.Games are increasing and I now have a good collection that I enjoy, but it will take time to reach the volume levels the 360 has A few things need polishing up with the way the interface works. Online works fine(certainly not shoddy as commented by the poster below you) but is not as complete with content as the 360.
Build quality wise it is streets ahead of the 360 but I thought everyone knew that.

Yea, after posting I kinda figured you ment that. I jumped the gun a little. Been arguing with friends all day about 360 vs ps3, and I guess I took my argument here, which was unwarrented.
I really hope the library of games increases on the ps3 as well. Looks like some will have to wait till 2009 though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Is this deal at all walmarts? Does anyone know if they are actually going to have stock? All the walmarts here never have any ps3's in stock, but other stores (best buy) have plenty. Seems they do not order very many...

i work there so i could get one for like 250 after my discount. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif) not that i would ever go near it with a 10 foot pool but thats another matter.
-
Well yeah, it's kind of hard to get near the display cases while carrying a pool. You'll probably knock a bunch of stuff off the shelves.

If I did not already have one, I would snatch it up. Good console.
And if you can afford it, why not get one? Even if you do not like the games available so far, there will be some in the next year worth playing. And the BR player is nice. And if our 360's ever falter, it would serve as a backup console.

hates br as well.

Buy them now for 250 then sell them after the sale for 350.
