Post by: KillaKarebear on February 06, 2008, 11:51:00 PM
Ok i need help I have my xbox connected to my pc via crossover wire so i can play online (which i can do) but i cant get a internet connection. So my XBMC says it has a ip adress but cant connect to the internet. My pc is wireless and my router is over 100 feet away. i have my xbox on a network bridge with my wireless card. the odd thing is i can surf the web on my pc while i play on xlink kai but i cant see things like my weather and rss feeds which are the things i like most about it. I tryed a wireless gaming adapter it gives me acess to the internet but cuz my pc is wireless and the only one i can run xlink kai on i cant play my xbox online. so if someone can help me it would be a life saver.

Hi,

it is possible that you need to add the DNS servers of your internet provider manually to your xbox. Open a command prompt on your pc and type in "ipconfig /all" (without the quotes). It will give you a lot information about your network. Among them will be the used DNS servers. Try things out with the PC firewall disabled first. That way you will know if some ports aren't blokked.

regards.
