People will buy the console just because of the name or if they had a ps2 etc.
If ken tells them is the most powerful console people will buy it.

fan base? look around buddy, most people i talk to that are hardcore ps2 fans aren't buying the ps3 because of all the bull that sony dishes out. and all the casual ps3 fans aren't bothering with the ps3 because of its high price.
ps3 fans????? HAHAHA thats a good laugh
