PS3 Officially Delayed Until November
Mar 14, 2006 @ 11:47am

Summary: From Japan: Sony officially delays the PlayStation 3 until November

Full: From 1UP.com, Sony has officially delayed the PlayStation 3 until November. Sony is silent on most specifics, but word is that the delay is being blamed on the console's Blu-ray technology.
According to Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun, the delay is specific to Japan, which means even more fret for American and European gamers. Typically, a PlayStation console launch won't hit North America and Europe until months after release in Japan.

This spells trouble for Sony as missing the US holiday rush could prove fatal in the next-generation war. MS would essentially have a one year jump on Sony, as the Xbox 360 would have already been out for over a year when the PS3 finally hits the US.
