Its alright I guess, nothing about it really wows me the way I thought it would from the original E3 videos shown. The demo of Motorstorm certainly doesn't look as good as the CG shown. Kind of a disapointment.
Also, the console is ugly!
My guess of why is that the zen designers at Sony all went on a camping trip, got really stoned, and started sketching what the playstation 2 would look like if you crossed it with various bugs crawling by (in this case, a June bug). Just then, the designers got a call from the higher ups saying that they want a design by tomorrow, and if they don't have it, theyre fired.
Sooo of course the design team just passed in the sketches they did for fun, hey its sony, what do they care? Everyone will buy this thing anyways!
..sorry about that little rant, it just looks sooo much like a june bug.
anyways, the Sixaxis controller looks alright, but I was actually looking forward to the boomerang, it looked very comfortable!
On the positive side, I like that the system has a built in hard drive, and the prospect of a new Metal Gear and Final Fantasy means I will probably buy one eventually.
I think the ps3 design looks fine, but you're right in saying the games don't really have a "wow" factor when compared to the 360; they're about the same. I've heard the real motorstorm demo looks better than the in-store demo, for some reason (i haven't seen the in-store one). I don't know if that's true.

I've also heard the final build of motorstorm also looks better then both demos, that atleast what ign was saying... I think..
that's true for pretty much any demo on any system.

Have you played Resistance yet? The game is amazing :-D It's the halo of the PS3, tons of fun, both online and campaign. I'm not really sure if there's anything on the 360 that's quite as impressive graphics-wise. GOW probably is, but the graphics in Resistance are still pretty sweet. Wherever you look, everything is rendered, through all windows and everything. There's nice variety in the gameplay. The enemies are quite intelligent and the game is hella long. If you haven't played it yet, give it a shot :-)
I would have to disagree with this statement big time. The textures in resistance are terrible and while I really enjoy this game I think it's graphics are comparible to Call of Duty 2. Everything is really square and doesn't feel organic to me.
This is on of my favorite games though, I have played it thru twice and the gameplay is great. But the graphics aren't what makes this game and are not really even comparable to GOW IMO.

Just a heads up alsybub. According to IGN the japanese final build is something of a demo v2.
Yeah. I know. It has barely any options and there isn't even a replay option but it is still a fantastically fun game. I just needed a game that validated my owning a PS3 and for now this is it.
Hopefully the US version will have a lot more content as well as the online functionality.
