So after all the fanboys bashed MS$ for having an emulator for backwords compatability, we find out that the PS3 has its own problems, and because it is hardware emulation, there is nothing they can do to fix it!
I find this quite hilarious. It just adds another log to the pile, and the Sony firestorm of B.S.

but throwingks have you seen it? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)
To the Op;
Yeah it's funny, but I'm willing to bet it still supports more games than the 360 does in BWC

But while the PS3 has a select few problems with backwards compatibility, a huge amount of xbox games don't work with the 360, and MS doesn't really have any plans to fix them.

True, but the ps3 doesn't enhance BC games with adding AA and rendering it internally at 720p like the 360 does with their BC games. That is a huge difference in my book.

Thats because most of the games that aren't going to be fixed have been forgotten, and noone plays them anymore, so why spend time on it? Why put so much effort towards BC that it distracts consumers from current games?

This is a quote from xbox.com backward compatibility FAQ
QUOTE
Q: Are you intentionally trying to keep a game off the list because you want us to buy the Xbox 360 version?
A: Not at all. Our goal remains to get every game to be backward compatible. The only things influencing what games we're working on are how popular the title is, and how easy it is to make backward compatible. Several original Xbox games on the list already have Xbox 360 counterparts.
I wish some people would do some research before assuming. And they just did an update and added some games today.

I like that point. Hell, even some 360 games are not playable on LIVE, given noone is playing.

How does he know they won't be fixed??

Oh, you're right that they very well might be, but as the install base of the 360 grows, the demand lessens for more BC stuff.
I personally don't buy the Xbox.com company line on back compat. They can be slick about things. That quote is good politically (IMHO)

The funny thing about Xbox compatibility is that people pretty much only play Halo 2 anyways, so if that works then 90% of the people are happy.
To be honest, the only game that I wish would work and doesn't is Project Gotham Racing 2.
