Title: Help With D2c Install
Post by: t_mac_ca on November 30, 2007, 06:17:00 PM
Hey I'm currently installing a D2C key on my Wii and I've ran into a problem. I've got all the wires soldered in the correct locations using this guide

http://www.neoasic.com/diagram/dia-d2ckey-logo.jpg

but when I turn the Wii on I don't think the drive is getting any power. Because I dont hear it making any noise and it wont let me insert/inject any discs. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Im stumped (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Heres a pic of the installation so far

first things first, you really need to cut those wires down to about 1/4 of the length they are now....and could you get a pic that is a little clearer, its hard to see the solder joints

Yea I had a similar problem. I latter found out that it was the brown ZIF connector that holds the ribbon cable. The Brown part that holds it in place was broken, and did not hold the cable in place. At first, with only the other cable connected to it, the console would turn on and make a lot noice from the drive and not eject. When I tried applying force and holding the ribbon cable in place, the console would response to the eject bottom and try to read CD but received a bad disc errors even with originals.
