Title: Flashing Wii Chiip
Post by: bigjay8510 on May 01, 2007, 09:19:00 AM
first of all i built my chip and programmer, this may be a silly question but is the led light suppose to be on when i have it hooked up to the programmer of just when its hooked up to the wii?

also is there any good tutorials out there on flashing the firmware, my first time flashing a chip like this.

If you soldered the led to the chiip itself it will possibly go on when you have it in the programmer, but why solder it to the chiip itself (solder it to a socket for the chiip, or on a small PCB) ?

For the programming, did you even look on the site of chiip ?

Here is a 'guide' howto program the chiip:

i got it done.....

downloaded avrdude from the openwii forums.... someone put a helpful autoinstaller on there...

then used the chiip hex file instead of the autoinstaller....
