My wife and I have been looking for a bit, and cannot find one. I know that there was a big shipment today, but I couldn't go get 1 till after my sons nap. Then they were all gone.

So, where did you get yours?

i gave a call to my local EBGAMES early in the morning, maybe like 11ish. (they opened at 10). i called on a tuesday when thats usually a "new game day". so I figure I would call. they had one, i went over to get one.

Well i remeber it was a nice sunday afternoon and i walked into my local walmart about to pick up some laundry detergent, and when i was there it thought why not check the electronics department( the departed had just come out to dvd the tuesday before) so i picked up a copy and proceeded towards the wii game case and to my surprise there were wii's in the case about 3 to be exact so i picked one up. I was told by someone there that they got 8 that day and withing 20 minutes he sold the first 5. So all i can say is i got lucky, i still think eb games and game stop are your best bet because they seem to know when there shipments are coming in.

I had a friend that was working at HMV. I had him call me when they got the Wii's in and rushed over to get one as soon as I got the news. I got one for me and a buddy of mine.

i checked itrackr.com to see if any place had them.compusa was the only store that had some so i go there 10 min before it opens and there are 5 people or so in the parking lot waiting for it to open . aparently their was one other guy that knew they had them and was looking for them too. he went back towards the games section and i went straight towards one of the sales guys and he went back and said it was the last one.

It was launch day. Despite being up till 4 in the morning, I found myself waking up at 7. Oddly enough, minutes after I woke up, my fiance did the same. After a quick discussion, we decided to try to find a wii. We hit three stores, no dice. Then I think, EB in the mall. I stroll into the mall (all the stores closed at 8 in the morning) to find a small (30) nintendo fanboys loitering infront of EB. I ask one if I'm wasting my time even asking. I swear the pimply parents-basement dweller was more excited for me then I was. "Let's get you a number!!" he exclaimed. The fanboy sprints as fast as his 250 lb frame can move, and begins banging frantically on the locked door of the EB. An unamused and tired looking employee saunters up to the door, exhales loudly to show his lack of interest. I get my number. The fanboy jumps for joy. I find a spot on the floor, amongst the Nintendo junkies playing their DS's. To their horror, I pull out my PSP and begin to play. An hour and a half later, I have my Wii in my hands.

Long story short, I got lucky on launch day.

got mine on eBay 2 days after launch.... only paid about $40 over retail and it came with Zelda

Though a week or two ago I saw a few available at a Sam's Club.

4/22 was a big day for resellers, and I couldn't/can't find a single 1 in the last 2 days.

itrackr shows 6 of 26 stores have it in stock. 0 of those 6 claimed to have any in stock over the phone. Driving to Wal-Mart, Toys-R-Us, Circuit City, Best Buy, EB Games, and GameStop turned up '0'. I did find out there is supposed to be a big shipment released on 5/6 though.

I was looking through eBay and Craigslist. Nothing struck my fancy. I may just wait another couple weeks, and give the random call to EBGames and Gamestop to see if they got 1 in.

All the others don't get their shipment till 5/6. I forgot to mention, I called Costco 1 morning, and they told me none in stock. So, I went the next day, for groceries and thought I would ask, they said I should have come the day before. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

To that I say "Bullshit! A pre-order is a sale." But, arguing with the guy isn't gonna get me a new toy.

I got one of those programs that constantly checks for wiis online (something like a widget). I woke up one morning and Circuit City had a bunch in stock, so I ordered one and got free shipping.

BTW, I know that the bundled wiis come in stock more often, so buy one with 1 game and return the game to the store (make sure to check store policy though)

I got my first Wii at RC Willy which is closed on sunday. got it Monday morning was the 6th person in line.
my second one i got at wal-mart, just walked by and to my suprise the had one left. right after i bought it some guy asked if they had any Wiis, it was his sons birthday and he wanted one for him. i felt kinda bad that the kid did not get a wii for his b-day but i got over it real quick.

So far all my friends have gotten theirs because of me. I work in the electronics section of a store and get to handle the new shipments of all the stuff, so I just set a few aside and start calling people (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I got mine on like the 25 of November, or somewhere around that date. I just had to stand in front of Toys R' Us for about 15 minutes.

most of those tracker sites are more reliable then the word of an employee over the phone.

If you do into the store make a clerk check the computer at least twice before taking "no stock" for an answer.

our local toys r us had 10 in stock on sunday when i was there buying my son a ds for his birthday. clerk was trying real hard to talk me out of the ds and into a wii. but, my son had said he'd rather have a ds, plus, we travel a lot for my daughters gymnastics, so its better to give him something to do. so you might wanna run into some toys r us' and see what they got.

I just bought 1 off Craigslist. It came with 2 remotes, a Nunchuck, and an HD cable.

i was in walmart about a week after launch. looked down and saw not only a wii but PS3 side by side (about 5 or so of each). I was so shocked I thought for sure they were display boxes. Obviously everyone else did too

. Needless to say I bought them both, as I was putting them in my cart, they made an announcement over the mike and they were gone instantly. It was like watching pirannas eat a poodle. Basically i walked ass backwards into both (actually all three since I won my xbox360)

First in line at Wal-mart launch day, slept against the front door windows. Total time was 14 hr's. I only bought one that day and it was for the kids for christmas, took me 3 more months to finally get my own. I shoulda bought two that day.

It was great waiting for the wii, more fun than waiting 8hr's for the gamecube, on it's launch day.

My dad called me and my little brother downstairs, then he pulled out the Wii....It was pretty suprising because there was no special occasion (sp?).

I got to school on the thursday morning it was releassed, and immediatly walked down to the local Krap-Mart (K-Mart) and asked for a Wii... The nice lady went out back and got me one, and then informed me Wii games were on special cause of the launch, so i bought Twilight Princess and Red Steel with it.

Since noone really cares about the Wii where i live (crappy little country town) lol I was like one of the first to get one lol woot!

And at the time I was probably one of the only people in Australia to own all 3 next gen consoles (at the time i had a wii, 360, and ps3 lol)

Nice find! Our parents just got one for my sisters. We had to go to three different Costco's to get it though

Don't even bother with GameStop, Target, Wallmart, Best Buy, Circuit City, ect. We checked there too!

Walked into a target as it opened last tuesday went directly to the electronics area saw like ten of them in the case asked the guy there if those were real? he said yes and i nerviously yelled "i want one" he looked at me like i was some wierdo and sad "ok". as i was buying it 3 other people came up and asked for him to hold one for them i assume they worked there but i really dont care since i got mine. swiped my card and seriously i was as gitty as a school girl kind of running out of the store with a huge smile on my face. yay i finally have one thank god.

I won mine 3 weeks ago =D Bought Legend of Zelda Twighlight Princess, RE4, and Redsteel as soon as it arrived. Haven't modded it as I have no interest in backups, I am far more interested in homebrew when it final gets hacked.

On completely seperate subject, I wonder how much of the security built into the system is similar to the 360. 1BL on CPU etc - seems logical that IBM would use similar techniques on different CPUs?
