Title: Wii Requires Adapter For Ethernet Connection
Post by: twistedsymphony on September 15, 2006, 01:42:00 PM
QUOTE
The Wii console can communicate with the Internet even when the power is turned off. The WiiConnect24 service delivers a new surprise or game update, even if the system is idle. Users can connect wirelessly using IEEE 802.11 or a USB 2.0 LAN adaptor.

So yes it includes wi-fi but it apparently requires and additional adapter for a wired connection.

Really odd if you ask me...  blink.gif

I too have a wireless router, though I perfer wired for it's reliability... now I'm not sure if I'd rather use my 802.11b Wi-Fi or eithernet via a dongle..  sad.gif

not to mention we have no idea how much such a dongle would cost.

I don't know what it cost, but when I first read about this someone was making a joke that Nintendo loves the number 39.99 for this kind of thing. Or some number close to that.

Edit: Maybe is 34.99, since I believe that's what the DS usb wifi thing is.
