Anyone interested? This mod is for peeps with a transparent type aftermarket faceplate. Such as Clear, Blue, Red.
Chips used: Parallax SX28 SSOP
Its got 3 different LED patterns. Night Rider is one. Also you can turn the display off. The pattern setting and power funtion is controlled via the (HOLD) switch. 1 quick on & off of the hold button set the display into the next pattern. On the 4th on & off press on the hold botton the display will be disabled. The next press starts the hole cycle all over again.
Draws about 30ma (Not Constant)
No problem being powered by the PSP's low battery voltage.
You need 12-805 Type SM LED's (Red, Blue, ?)
Here is the Circuit Board Layout: http://www.chicagogamewerks.com/tutpics/im...ledtemplate.jpg
I have the tutorial on how to make a circuit board also. Will post tomorrow.
I also have Many pics on how to install this mod. Belive it or not. Its just a matter of running the wires which is really not that hard. The hard part is disassembling just about the hole PSP to get it in. Again its really not that bad.
Here's what the finished Circuit board looks like http://www.chicagogamewerks.com/tutpics/images/DSC00567.JPG
More Pics tomorrow.

Insted of posting all the pics here you can view the hole projct here. PSP LED Chaser

Its sandwiched between the mem stick board and the case. Its a fairly easy install. I am working on the installation pics and they will be posted in a day or so. I did add a short movie of the prototype I made to the above link. The proto type only used 10 leds. The revised version has 12 leds.
