OK, i am on the road enough so i finally broke down and got a psp. Now I am new to PSP hacking, I have read topics for 3-4 hours and need some basic clarifications.
My PSP is firmware 2.5.
I would like to run homebrew and 'other stuff' on it. What do I really need to do? downgrade the firmware to 1.5? use a Loader? etc.
Now if I downgrade to 1.5, what do I lose, can I switch back and forth between firmwares?
Thanks in advance.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong but I believe what you will want to do is:
Downgrade your PSP firmware to 1.5
Get loaders which will allow you to play games that require a firmware upgrade (thus allowing you to stay in 1.5 but play games that are new.)
The answer to "can you switch back and forth?" is not easily. And you won't need to because you can use loaders to play games out of your firmware allowance.

now i have to figure out how to see the the labels which are all facing the bottom inside a secured cabinet. I hope they get a downgraded for 2.5 soon.
customer service.
"excuse me sir, could you please check those psps for me, there are certain models that arent as stable or reliable, im looking for a specific one"
in fact, i didnt go to any stores, i called and had them check, found the stores that had them, and went out and bought them. (them = got about 6 with dead pixels)
