Title: Can Psp Games Be Backed Up? Twisted Metal
Post by: xbox360fanatic on February 19, 2006, 11:33:00 AM
I had no interest in a PSP until alst night when I saw a Twisted metal game for it.  I read that it was made by the entire crew that made the first two twisted metal games.  As you probably know the 3rd and 4th gmae of the series were made by sony and they sucked, and the twisted metal game on ps2 ws made about half of the guys who worked on TM2 and it was naturally better than 3, but not as good as 2.  I really want to play the twisted metal for psp but I unfortunately scratch games a lot.  Is there anyway to backup twisted metal on PS and play the backup while keeping the original safe in its case?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's possible to play games from a MemoryStick. However, your PSP's firmware must be version 1.5 or lower (if you have 2.0, you can downgrade to 1.5), and the backed-up game can't require 2.0 firmware. Fortunately, 'Twisted Metal: Head On' does not require 2.0 firmware to run.

Look over the tutorials at the top of this forum to see how to run backed-up games on a PSP.

If a game requires 2.0 and your on 1.5, you have to upgrade to play.(Its a firmware upgrade, its included in the game, its just installed like a software upgrade) The problem with this is, backups and some homebrew only work on 1.5.

lets not pass untrue info on...

certain "2.0 required" games can be run under special circumstances...

GTA for example.. you patch its 2.0 files, and run a prog by MPH that loads the game using the 2.0 codecs/files needed and voila! you are running a 2.0 game on a 1.5

pretty kick ass whats been accomplished, and ive just had a psp for a week!

At the time of my posting, GTA: LCS was not playable on a PSP with 1.50 firmware, as the demonstration version of '2.00 game loader for 1.50' was released on the 22nd.

But then again, the only 2.00 game I was thinking of was GTA: LCS, which I knew couldn't be patched to run on 1.50 firmware smile.gif
