I have a Halo edition xbox with the older motherboard, the 1.4 I believe, modded with a TSOP flash. It was working fine up until about a week ago and then it started to get weird on me. I would shut off randomly during games or using XBMC, and now when I go to turn it on the fan spins really fast, I get a flashing orange light, no video and then it just turns off. It does not FRAG at all. I assumed it was overheating, but I can let it sit overnight and it will still do the same thing. I opened it up again and started to look for anything unusual and the only thing I can find is the capacitor at C7G2 (towards the front left of the motherboard) had crusty white stuff, which I am assuming means a faulty capacitor. If I replace this capacitor, will it work again? Is there something simple that I am missing? Any tips or clues would be greatly appreciated.
