recently replaced a screen on a(n) psp, but when i try to turn it on the green power light turns on for about 3sec but no picture nothing, i appreciate any help on this. thanks
-
More info on the psp please?
By what your describing i can think of two problems....
1) The psp is bricked
2) The backlight for the screen isn't working (try shining a light behind the screen and see if you can see any picture)
-
even before i replaced thee screen i would get the same thing power light lights up for about 2-3sec but no pic or sound. this psp is not modded or anything like that. if it does turn out to be bricked what then...? oh yeah what is bricked...?
-
Well, your going to need to make a Pandora's battery and magic memory stick to unbrick it
Do you have a homebrew capable psp you can use?
and "Bricked" means you've corrupted the flash memory....thus making your psp a "brick" as in not useful anymore. Did this psp ever get turned off while updating firmware?
-
not that i know of.....
-
Can you hear the start-up sounds when you turn it on?
When you turn it on and theres the black screen and only the green led does it turn off after a while?
-
nope no sound nothing, the screen doesn't flinch or anything like that...
-
Alright, with the amount of detail you've given then i would say its bricked
Your going to need to get access to a homebrewable psp so you can make a pandora's battery and magic memory stick
-
first of all thanks for all your feedback and help. now homebrewable
-
this is the latest in my lil situation, i took apart the psp one more time and repeated the procedure, and now the power light does stay on, but as far as the screen goes still no picture and no sound.......
-
When you have a brick messing with internals will do you nothing.
And by homebrewable i mean a psp thats modded. Do you have any friends with a modded psp?
-
everyone i know with a psp has it stock,..... since this is necessary and i have no access where do i go from here...? oh yeah when the power led is on i cant turn it off, i have to remove the battery or the a/c power.
-
well, your going to need to get a hold of a pandora's battery and memory stick to fix your psp. You should be able to find them on ebay
-
thanks, ill look on ebay and ill get back to you..
-
Hey mate! Good luck finding a Pandora Battery on Ebay. They get removed pretty fast, or so I've heard. Instead, buy yourself a Datel Tool Battery. It's basically a Pandora Battery and it's pretty cheap. Cheaper than an original Sony's battery.

CodeJunkies sells them for 24.99$:

Slim Version: http://us.codejunkie...__EF000513.aspx
After that, all you'll need is to create your Pandora/Magic Memory Stick. You don't need another PSP!
Use this guide, it's actually pretty easy.
Universal Unbricker V3 Using Official Firmware FAT/SLIM PSP Guide -By Larrylje
Just to tell you, I'm a noob in these sort of things. I paid someone 80 bucks when I wanted my Xbox to be modded. So in no way I am a techno-dork. With that said, I was able to mod my PSP thanks to the tut in the link I provided.

dont get the datel tool.....all it is is the battery, it doesnt even come with the memory stick. Nor does it come with any instructions or tell that you need the memory stick
-
And a Pandora Battery comes with a Memory Stick?
