You can use devhook to emulate the 2.71 firmware and then load your backups from within the emulated firmware. Compatibility has to be around 95%-99% which is very good. You can also use the new 2.71SE-B custom firmware that contains both an integrated ISO launcher as well as the possibility to run 1.50 and 2.71 (HEN-C formatted) homebrew.
