Make sure you have DHCP Server running on your router and that you don't have MAC filtering turned on.

If you are running an old firmware like 1.5 make sure your wireless router is set to no encryption or WEP Encryption. The early PSP firmwares could not handle WPA. Also, make sure your access point or router is setup to support 802.11b. Often times they are set to 'G Only' and the PSP will be unable to connect.
Hope this helps.
