Title: Usb Hard Drive?

I read on psphacker.com that people have been reported using usb external hard drives to transfer data back and forth between the psp and the hard drive



can anyone confirm this? it seems a little skeptical because

1.  i haven't seen any software that would see this stuff on the hard drive

2.  the psp doesn't have any type of browser program integrated



so can anyone confirm this? or at least give me a reason to believe that it works?

rumor. the psp has no usb drivers other than using the function to put files onto their MS. its all download, no upload, so even if you were to get a usb drive, it couldnt see the files, you have to find a way to get it to your memory stick without an os (I.E windows, linux, OSX). and even then you would need a memory stick.

that wont work, unless the external hdd has a usb host function

maybe there are hds out there though that are usb host, but still until some sort of browser comes out, i think it's rumor like said by both posts above, ..because your right the psp can only download, no upload because it's just a client.

what about a usb flash drive via the duo memory port? Couldnt they make some converstions and get a usb flash drive to work as a dou stick? (1GB Flash drive is like $50, compared to around $120 for a duo)

i suggested that usb disk drive a while ago because like you said they're a lot cheaper

It can be done and has been done. You just need an external usb hdd that has host functionality such as the Steno. Not just any USB HDD will work.
