There's no hard drive is there. Anything you want to play (video, mp3, etc) have to be stored on a memory stick.

thanks for the links, does anyone have anymore? Im surprised there isnt a ton of homebrew stuff available for this thing yet. I'd like to be able to set my own background images, change the screen color/graphic etc ( I know it changes by itself every month, but I'd like to pick ) and I really want to see some kind of file browser...you cant even really browse the files on the memory card. Also, whats the pioint of having the wireless infrastructure mode if you cant transfer files from you pc wirelessly.

MiniReview of the SONY PSP
An amazing system with a few flaws that will hopefully be fixed with a firmware upgrade.

Pros
- Can play psp games of course
- Watch videos on Umd
- Watch videos of memory stick duo
- Play mp3 and photos
- Wifi

Cons
- No web browser for the system
- Lack of multitasking (such as viewing pictures and playing music)
- Low system volume and when listening through headphones
- Not compatible with regular memory stick (duo's are more $$)
- no wifi file transfer
- no chat program

I really would buy this PSP if it did use regular compact cards, had some type of micro-hard drive, and regular mini-dvd disk format.
I am frustrated that Sony went the way they did ... I can only HOPE MS does a better job and uses Regular formats and includes micro-hard drive! smile.gif
(tom's hardware page gave review of 30 gig micro hard drive ... that would be awesome)

Compact card 70 dollars for 1 gig
Sony's type    189 dollars for 1 gig

so far, I've only played untold legends, so I cant really say anything about the other games...but from the demo's I've seen, they all look pretty amazing.

Notice it said mini review

I brought the psp for all of the multimedia capabilities and gaming for me is secondary. If you have so many questions about the unit itself I recommend you run down to the local gamestop and test it out.

I wonder if they have to do that every time they want to use it. Thats pretty awesome though, it shows off some capabilities of the PSP.

If you want to play online in lets say, Twisted Metal, then yes you would need a "hotspot" or just a WAP/wireless router hooked up to the internet. Just to play a link game, then the PSP's will automatically connect to each other w/o the need of all the other stuff.

I just bought ridge racer for the PSP and on the back it says there is a infrastructure mode but all it lets me do is search for system link games.  Am I missing something or is this game only for system link.

Ridge Racer doesn't support infrastructure mode, the packaging is a misprint AFAIK.
