Title: Using Mediacodespeededit Tool To Remove Write Function?

I need to modify a liteon DVDRW firmware to make the drive read only for a project I am working on.
Strange request I know.

Would it be possible using MediaCodeSpeedEdit?

I basically need to make a lite-on burner read only. Is there any other way.

Any ideas, help would be greatly appreciated!
