Title: Trouble With Pc Recognizing Hard Drives.
Post by: 1hotjob on January 13, 2007, 08:33:00 AM
My PC worked great, then one day it wouldn't recognize any HD correctly. When I put in a HD, instead of getting the model number of the HD coming up I get all these weird characters. This happens with any drive I put in there. I reverted the BIOS back to the original one that came with the PC, but didn't help.

It wouldn't recognize the HD that I had installed in there with XP loaded on it or any new drive that is connected.

If you have any insight into this I would greatly appreciate it. It is the machine I use to build Xbox HDs with.

I have a PCI IDE controller. The onboard IDE controller nor the PCI one will get a HD to work.

Thanks.
