Title: 'reserved For Mft' ?
Post by: d22k on March 05, 2005, 05:04:00 PM
Ok, ive recently installed 2 new hard drives, neither of them are system disks, they are just used for storage.

I have set xp to use a 200mb page file, as i have 1.5gig of RAM, however, when i analyze the disk with 0&0 defrag, there is an awful lot of space that appears to be taken up by 'MFT'

i dont think its apage file, it wouldnt make sense, and its far to large for a file table, isnt it?

its just space that shows up as 'MFT reserved area'

id like to get rid of it if i can, but more importantly what the hell is it?
