I'm totally new to these MSNTV 2 box's. Why are they such a hot item? After you reverse engineer then what can you do with them?
You can do practically anything you could do on a equivalent speed desktop/laptop running Linux. You can run MythTV and have a completely silent media center, which has already been done. I plan to get run Debian and MythTV.

Who has done this so far? Any links? I thought people were only able to load the Linux kernel so far?

Here is a link to a copy of the original thread: http://www.toc2rta.c...wtopic.php?t=62
As said before this forum went down and these are only copies of some of the threads. I am hoping this fourm will take off but time will tell. There is a huge group of people on this forum that like to mess with this type of stuff. There is no how-to on how to do it as of yet. Hopefully if we can get enough interest in this a image can be put up on the web with a full install of Linux and some nice apps like MythTV.
