Title: Is Gamecube Softmodding Really That Bad?
Post by: twistedsymphony on December 14, 2007, 12:16:00 PM
If moded gamecubes were like cars

... A Qoob Pro would be a Ferrari and a Soft mod would be like a go-kart you cobbled together yourself out of scraps of wood and a weed wacker motor that only runs some of the time and can't drive up hills.

Soft mods on the Gamecube aren't worth using AT ALL... it's really nothing more than a proof of concept because you have to jump through 15 minutes worth of hoops just to get a game started, loading times are about 10 times longer and FMV and Audio studder without fail and there is a high probability that games will lock up on you for no reason.

using a modchip to play home brew and backups and the console will work as if it were playing original discs.
