Title: Can't Read 500gb Properly

I had a 250 gb Hard drive installed on my xbox which is modded.  I recently transfered all the information onto a new 500 gb hard drive. I starts up fine, but when I try to ftp into it, the folders show as 0byte files.  I can't access them at all. How do I fix this?
