Converting a 1.2 psu to a 1.0 psu, what to do about those 3 extra wires.
Well i followed the tutorials and have left the 3 extra wires off, and the 1.2 is working with a 1.0 mobo.
This tutorial here...
http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/psu-v10-on-v12.php
and here...
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sho...convert+adapter
Now they are the same thing, just graphically different. Anyways, the extra 3 wires from a 1.2 psu are...
1 Power (red)
1 Ground (black)
1 3.3v (orange)
Now does the 1.2 psu split the power up, so if i changed it to a 1.0 the power would be cut in half (well not in half, just not as dependable/strong), which would result in me needing those extra wires? Like i mentioned, i got it working without the 3 wires, just when i press power it doesn't instantly turn off like my other 1.0's do. Plus, i thought the first time i tried it the fan was making a noise as if it the power is being strangled. However, after trying it a few times, that noise went away (could of been a wire rubbing it, didn't look like it though).
Anyways, any idea? i don't see why i would need the extra wires from this stand point, but maybe someone knows different.

Nevermind, it doesn't seem to matter, atleast not according to my meter. I just attached the extra wires and i get the same values (off the board).
i do have another question though, is the heatsink or any parts better i could use from the 1.2 than the 1.0?
