got any suggestions for bands I should give a try?
I like alot of different stuff so I'm open toalmost anything except for country which gets all over my nerves.
I like alot of stuff like the chili peppers, bush, etc but am open to anything.

That's a few of the bands I got, I got something like 2 GBs worth of 80s too, good luck filling it up halfway. My IRiver has 20 gigz, and with 850 songs, I only used up 5 GBs.

It's all very well having 15, 20, 40GB storage or whatever but I've had my my mini for 3 weeks now and there's still songs I haven't heard, and it's only 2/3 full with about 580 tracks. I rip mp3s at the hightest possible quality using RazorLame (VBR Extreme Setting). I couldn't give a shit about file size, it's quality I want.
I have over 3000 songs on my PC but that doesn't mean I have to have them on a portable storage device to take with me all the time. I just take what I know I'll listen to and wont skip over. There's an old saying - Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. I think this is quite apt for these mega sized storage devices. Just my opinion though.

we played alot of alternative rock music
things like bush, nirvana, smashing punpkins, greenday, etc...
thats what we started out with...
but our songs were really nothing like any of those bands...
our guitarist was deeply rooting in bluegrass and play some of the craziest solos and pick faster than anyone I have ever heard, so that played alot into a music,
versus were usually composed of intricuge finger picking seading into a fast paced, ligtly destorted chorus...dont really know of any bands that we sounded like though

Most bands mentioned totally suck but Id like to see a list of your favorite bands.
No need to list any song individually because if a band only has 1 good song then they suck.

I have alot of friends who are "indie" and they dont go around talking about how indie they are...because being "indie" has to do with rejecing lables and stereotypes, and by going around screaming, "im so indie" you are turning that into a label itsself which is the exact oposite of the word....and not listening to a band because it is quote "mainstream" is retarded. I like some "indie" music and some 'mainstream' music.
it isnt about every thing mainstream being shitty, its about you being a fucking dumbass

When did I say I was "indie"? When did I say I was a part of the "k3wl" indie scene? Last I remember I just suggested some quality artists who happen to be unknown you tools because you don't know real talent for shit. Just because you don't know about an artist doesn't make them indie you fucking douche (as they could be mainstream elsewhere), and you are right, I don't listen to most mainstream, because it is tasteless, talentless bullshit, all of those "artists" are fucking puppets of the major labels. I already recommended some "indie" groups a few posts back.

However, buying an Ipod was one of the best things i ever did. It made me go out there and find music that i liked besides the rock/rap stuff i was listening to. I found out that i love electrona and many other generas. I like
