If your box is already modded with a chip then just download AutoInstallerDelux3.0 (aid3.0) from the usal places it has full instructions and everything. You make a disk then put it in your xbox turn it off put in your new hd then boot up the box. The disk takes care of everything!!!!!

I just got done putting a bigger hdd for the first time myself.. i set the new hdd as master. When you get to the first screen of xboxhdm it gives you 4 choices the one you want is choice #3 Linux unlock/lock utilites. After you read the message and type yes you would then do ( unlockhd -a ) and then it should read you the information.. hdd key , hdd pass from eeprom & such.

I noticed when I tried to install a new hd, the Xbox would turn itself off. I don't know how you have yours hooked up, but my new hd was powered by the Xbox. I had to keep an eye on the Xbox to see if it was still on.

I'm trying to format mine in the computer with XboxHDM. It just won't work, and I'm worried the drive is dead.
