VGA cannot be adapted to a DVI-D connection... if you'r DVI-I connection wont support it either, then I'd say you're SOL.

the fact that you were only trying 1080p would have been helpful

99% of the TVs that support 1080p don't support it on anything but HDMI.

BTW google turns up 0 results for the TV model you mentioned.
