Type of graphic (sig, avatar, banner):Sig please, anything that fits within XS's rules. I prefer short, but long ones. But feel free to make it as big as you want.
Colors:Not too sure, but I'm a big fan of the gray scale (silver, gray, black), with blue.
Text:My name of course, and I would really like if you can incorporate the HSD quote in my sig, giving him credit as well.
Subtext:I guess what I wrote up there lol.
Pics :My 360 isn't done yet, so can't use that.. Maybe the 360 ring of light? Or something along those lines...I don't know, get creative.
Anything else:I know most of you guys are really good at graphics, that's why I'm asking lol. I could make my own, but I tend to hate the ones I make for myself because I know exactly how it was done. So feel free to get creative and such.
TIA

QUOTE(I Want More CowBell @ Jun 30 2006, 07:20 PM)

you want that whole quote in your sig....damn thats lengthy
Yea, I realized that after posting lol. How about just the important parts? Like the one in yellow sounds cool. I don't know. You be the judge. I hate to impede an artist's mind with my restrictions.
-
Up?
-
Well, I tried
:
-
^thanks man! I'll keep that for now!
-
What's the allowed size for a sig here?
I have a sig I made that I want to use, and the dimensions are 400x215

???
-
the dimensions are 450 by 140
-
the dimensions are 450 by 140 but thats a sweet sig
heres my try
its not very good but
-
Here's my try. Hope you like it. I can remove teh ring thing at the bottom right if you wish. Enjoy!
-
OK! Thanks for the sigs guys!
Mind if I request something else as well? I'm in the process of designing my own sig too, but I can get it done right.
I'm trying to make a Premium 360 bezel, but instead of saying XBOX 360, I want it to say ARJUN in the same font. I can get the text and everything done, I just can't do the bezel properly. The chrome is annoying the hell out of me and I can't get it to reflect evenly. I'll somehow manage to throw in a shadow that would screw everything up. Can anyone do this for me? Thanks!
-
How about this Here is one with your name and one without.

-
Ok I updated the ones up top for a little for reflection and here is one with Helvetica as per Metal's suggestion.
-
Wow, thanks guys. Anyway you can just get the bezel though? I seem to suck at getting pieces out. The magic wand hates me, and the only otherway I know is using that magnetic thing, which also hates me btw. Any one know other ways? And I think I can do the text, cause I have the write font. Doesn't seem to hard, grab the right color and shadow for depth and maybe some transparency?
EDIT, actually never mind. I think I can work with what you guys did. THANKS A LOT! I really appreciate it. Hopefully I can use all those sigs!
-

Simple, but I like it.
EDIT:Anyone know how I clean up those artifacts stuff?
-
the text should be inverted, so its indented instead of protruding. the way i do that is make the text color the same as the background(not sure if setting the layer styles to overlay or soft overlay produce the same outcome, but i think it will) then go to bevel/emboss, at the bottom, where there is the black and white color boxes, change the white to black, and black to white, then change the multiply to screen and screen to multiply.
-
near the top of the bevel and emboss window for layer styles, there will be a radio box that is filled in, titled "up". there will be another radio bo x directly to it's right, titled "down", if you choose down instead of up, you don't have to manually change the colors at the bottom of the window

and yeah, invert the text
@Arjun: haven't you been introduced to the pen tool!? if you haven't i'd really learn if you plan on progressing in photoshop, it is definetely one of the best tools in photoshop.
-
I whipped up a crappy "rendering" tutorial. I didn't explain how to add curves with the pen tool though. Just hold control and drag a point.
-
figured i'd help out also
not to try and steal the spotlight tho

since his tutorial didn't cover how to create curves
(BTW.. if you're rendering out a perfect circle, use the circular marquee tool while holding shift)

I disagree. Pen tool is no where near the most important tool in Photoshop. Illustrator yes, but not Photoshop. The pen tool in photoshop is like the brush tool in Illustrator. It comes in handy, but not necessary.
-
illustrator feels like a crappy ps to me, i can do everything just fine in ps :-\
-
QUOTE(metaldevil @ Jul 11 2006, 05:28 PM)

He didn't say it was the most important. He said it was one of the best tools in PS, and I agree. Not to mention, if you only own PS, then the pen tool is much more valuable.
I was mostly basing my statement on this one: "haven't you been introduced to the pen tool!? if you haven't i'd really learn if you plan on progressing in photoshop...". The way he presents it makes it sound like ur a moron if you don't use the pen tool.
@ wahoo: Then ur not using Illustrator correctly
-
well... i'm not saying your a noob if you don't use it, nor you're a idiot if you don't. i was basically saying, that if you truly want to learn the program, and not just use it for making sigs, then i would recommend looking into the pen tool. it's kind of like saying, once you've learned how to swim, i'd learn the backstroke becuase it's a really great part of swimming. the backstroke isn't necessary, but it's a great thing to learn if you're a swimmer(i'm not swimmer, just an analogist)
Illustrator, isn't a crappy photoshop, but it IS alot like photoshop. you can't do half the things you can do in photoshop in illistrator, but nor can photoshop do half the things illistrator can do. illistrator isn't really designed for "great effects", it's more of a program to create brochures, logos, and things that don't need great detail, but you need it to beable to get huge from a small image(vectors). In my opinion, photoshop can handle as much vector as i need it to. the pen tool, the oval tool, rounded rectangle tool, they all support vectors, and they do it quite well. and using those tools in conjunction with layer styles, you pretty much have yourself a bonified vector.
-
call me a nub but I have never touched the pen tool, i always wanted to learn how but I doubt I would ever call it necessary. extremely dependant on what you want to do with PS

yea I know what your saying, and im not really saying that in a mean way, but theres always more ways then one to do something especially in PS. Its great how much youve utilized a tool in the program but no one tool makes PS its the fact it has so many that it creates a more artistic and less scientific way of doing things
-
im nopt familiar with photoshop at all, but i am a little familiar with macromedia firewroks mx. i like this program much more than photoshop, the interface is simmilar, but diffrent still, i would also like to use the the pen tool, but again like lostboyz said, i would probably not call is usefull, or effective, i like the signature i made, and all i did was cut the halo character out with the magic wand, and make him transparent, got some symbols, firefox and avalaunch, and added them with a little xbox text to top it off along with a small www.xbox-scene.com on the bottom right.....anyone who wants a nice simple design on a sig liek that can ask me, altough i do need to resize it, i just got a pm form a moderator that i need top make it smaller....
