lol. he pretty much says "add a little detail", and he has an awsome shirt. at a bit more detail, and you have realistic hair. i remember watching this guy on tv paint a scenery; this reminds me exactly of that.

That's pretty damn cool!
I can't draw by hand, neither can I "emulate" it in PS Perhaps if I got a tablet...

hes the like free cable painter or something like that, he has a huge orange afro?!
im not saying if those are real or not, but i always thought they just took a photo and worked backwards on it, untill it was a simple outline

I know it might not, but I can always improve!
I hate the idea of trying to draw on paper with no undo function

I do somethimes find myself reaching for the CTRL+Z keys when I'm drawing by hand in school, and then remember paper doesn't do that

CTRL+ALT+Z kickz CTRL+Z's butt ANYDAY but yeah, this guy is really good, but there IS the small fact that he is also using a tablet, which GREATLY increases the ease of painting in PS.

We here in England use an invention called the "pen."
Essentially, I never have a sharp pencil.

a PEN?!?!?!? what is THAT!? do you have pictures?
i usually draw in pencil... using a mechanical pencil(sure, it's not very artsy, but WTH!)

lol. thats what life needs, and undo function. while we are at it, might as well add a search function.
tablets are more for people who are really serious about drawing on the computer; like for an occupation. even if you could draw good by hand, a tablet wouldnt be worth it.

but theyre always useful when editting your drawings also, like coloring and whatnot.

i totaly agree they are useful, but for the price, i think its not for the average user.

I bought a cheap tablet and I must say when you get the hang of using one it makes a mouse feel clumsy.
btw^^ metal, we need another P.M.C!!

I haven't looked, but I'm sure you can find a small Wacom Intuous or Graphire tablet for under 100 bucks. In which case I wouldn't consider that expensive.
I would recommend a tablet for anyone who paints or draws. Even as a hobby. Especially painters since Corel Painter does a good job at emulating paints and most people would find the idea of no clean-up, less cost, and speedier workflow very attractive. But if you work primarily in Illustrator, I would say pass. I still use the mouse more often in AI.

Pictures like that are my motivating force for wanting to get a tablet.
As far as Bob Ross goes, does anybody here realize that he's been dead for over 10 years?
