Actually, MS used 7v fan to make the xbox quieter.  That is the real reason.

indeed. the fan is spec'ed to run on 12v so its fine at 12v.

6 fans in ur xbox? deary me..

yup.. its to make it quiter.. and they didnt need 12v on the "STANDARD" xbox!

the friction of SOO much airflow probably heats it up LOL!
how the hell did u fit 6 fans in???
