Title: Trading For A 97 Ranger, What Should I Look Out For?
Post by: yaazz on January 30, 2008, 09:03:00 AM
Early next week, pending the truck turns out fine, I should be trading my Cavalier for a 97 Ford Ranger 4x4.
I've looked the truck over, and it looks mint... It has no rust, makes no weird noises (belts, etc), no dents, and comes with 2 sets of tires (sum and win)

However, I've been fooled before so I'm doing a little research into Ranger specific problems. The truck is inspected, but I plan on getting it re inspected anyways (If its fine it should pass again, right?), but what else should I look for?

This may sound weird but tap every body panel in different places to make sure its all metal and not been bondoed up after a wreck by a body shop. Also check the frame as well to be sure.
