Title: Yep. That's A Hole.

Pulling the transmission right out the side.  (took me about 2.5 hours smile.gif )

Blew right through the welds on the differential pin and punched a neat little hole in the clutch bellhousing.  That's what no traction in 1, 2, and 3 does to a transmission smile.gif

Got another transmission en route for $150 shipped, but it's my fourth one...I should really race a real car.

lol, I can chirp third without the juice, but I'm talking WHEELSPIN ALL THROUGH THIRD GEAR.  Shitty tires+too much nitrous+FWD=doom.

Anyone else have any better destruction pics?  These are weak as shit.  Let me find some better ones...

That's what USUALLY happens when the diff pin goes.  It goes all the way out and makes a HUGE hole in everything.

For whatever reason, the weld on both sides of my pin broke, but there was enough weld stuck to the pin that still held that kept it from going all the way through the differential and into everything.

WOW. What a mess. I’ve never burned up parts and had them do that. I’ve burned out many clutches and two rear ends but never had a hole like that.

I have to ask though… Whats with the ghetto 2x4s? I know it must be holding the block up, but a hoist would be a lot simpler and safer.

Well, I see it this way.  Civics are built better and have a HUGE aftermarket, and Saturns have pretty much none.  BUT, if you see a modified civic, you can pretty much expect that he's got some decent performance stuff done to it.  $600 and it's turboed...weee...

Nobody expects it from a Saturn smile.gif  I love the surprise...

Heh.  I put those there because I was originally planning on putting the wheels back on and wheeling it back over so that I would still have half the garage.  You can kind of see the jack I also have underneath the oil pan.

Two motor mounts + 2x4 support from top + jack on bottom + engine that weighs 225 lbs = no problems smile.gif

Besides, if I could afford a hoist, I'd have money...which means I wouldn't be driving a Saturn....hahaha.

Yeah, one can be expected to get a little dirt on their hands from pulling a transmission.  They're clean now, though, I promise smile.gif

yea nitrous in a stock civis is plain stupid you'd be basically killing your car for a little bit of fun, only when u get a new intake anifold and swap out your pistons until they can take the pressure of nitrous does that make sense and as stated earlier how many AEM Manifolds or parts along those lines do you c for a saturn.

i have burned parts verrry well.
eg melted pistons fused to water jackets ( too much boost too little fuel)
blown heads clean off blocks
conrods out the side of blocks
also i managed to send a turbo compressor wheel through a radiator.

its amazing what you can do with 350 bhp (without nos just a hucking fuge turbo) in front wheel drive. torque steers a bitch when it takes you by surprise

Civics are a bunch of crap cars.

I drive a 96 camry, with performance mods and I can take a turbo civic off the line any day.

It's a good feeling too, because if you known what a 92 - 96 camry looks like, that's a hell of an achievement.

Civics are lighter.
